Uranus enters Gemini Where it Will Transit for Eight Years

As this column posts, my daughter Phe and I will be in Birmingham, UK having just seen her idol, Ozzy Osbourne, and a ton of bands celebrate his “Back to the Beginning” final concert. Here’s a lovely version of his song “Changes” in a late career duet with his daughter Kelly.

It seems fitting for what I am about to tell you…

Cause it’s all about changes. Good changes, if we open our minds.

On July 7, 2025 Uranus makes its ingress into Gemini where it will travel for eight years. Uranus is the planet of sudden change in the name of progress. The sudden part is where we humans tend to get nervous. There are probably MANY things you would like to see change in the world, but the way events play out can be unpredictable. We are finishing (Today!) a long cycle of Uranus in Taurus which began May 15, 2018.

Uranus is thought of as an air sign planet, as it rules air sign Aquarius. The Taurus cycle has been bumpy (ya think??) as radical and inventive Uranus is not in any way at home in security-minded Taurus. A lot of the changes that we’ve gone through collectively, as well as individually, during this cycle have happened with us kicking and screaming.

Luckily, this new cycle shows Uranus entering a sign that it is much more simpatico with: fellow air sign Gemini. Uranus is very technologically minded, so this era of AI, and supercharged energy in the tech zone is also very compatible with Uranus. Gemini is the sign of the messenger, the communicator. We may actually be able to communicate better during this era. As always, transitions can be bumpy. But if you focus on the NEW inventions you’d like to see in the world and communicate with folks who are also on the cutting edge of thought, you will have a great time. I am not just talking about tech inventions. There’s so much more. If you (like I) are sick of people shouting back at systems and people that are disinterested in the noise, this is a great time to build new systems that run smoothly, that have a light Gemini touch.
